SMARTWRAP RA1000 rotary arm stretch wrapper

The RA1000 is a rotary arm stretch wrapper. The pallet stays in place on the floor while the arm with the film carriage rotates around it. This design is ideal for wrapping tall, heavy, or unstable pallet loads that should not be spun.

This stretch wrapper handles pallets up to 1.2 × 1.2 m and up to 2000 mm high. The film is pre-stretched to 250%. The rotary arm speed is adjustable from 3 to 12 rpm.

A photo sensor detects the top of the load. The carriage wraps the bottom, moves up to wrap the top, and then returns down. Film application and cutting are done manually.

The stretch wrapper is operated via a PCB board with an X-Line touch screen and uses 220 V, 50/60 Hz power. The machine dimensions are 2.68 × 1.1 × 3.1 m, and it weighs 600 kg.

Operating the RA1000

1. Place the film roll onto the carriage and thread the film as shown in the diagram, with the cling side facing the load.
2. Position the pallet under the arm using a pallet jack or forklift, then exit the area.
3. Secure the film end to the pallet.
4. Select the program on the touchscreen and press start: the arm rotates while the carriage moves up and down to wrap.
5. Once the arm returns to its starting position, cut the film manually and remove the pallet.

Settings and Maintenance

• Wrapping force. Adjust on the touchscreen: increase for heavy loads, decrease for lighter cartons.
• Bottom and top wraps. Set the number of turns on the touchscreen to secure both the pallet base and the top of the load.
• Safety. Inspect the emergency stop and anti-collision bumper daily; never allow anyone under the arm during operation.
• Cleaning. Use a dry cloth or a neutral cleaner only; do not use solvents or gasoline.
• Carriage rollers. If the film slips, clean the rollers with alcohol.
• Lubrication and inspection. Lubricate chains and bearings; check the column belt and the arm’s slewing bearing as outlined in the manual.

Make sure there are no overhead obstacles above the machine and that the floor is level and can support the machine’s weight.

To prevent downtime, keep all sensors clean and free from dust. For integration into a packaging line, plan the workflow so pallets can be moved in and out without crossing the arm’s path.
