POF shrink film, 15 microns

This POF shrink film (polyolefin) is 15 microns thick and comes on center-folded rolls. Place your product between the two layers, seal the edges, and apply heat to shrink the film tightly around it.

Available roll sizes: 200 mm (1259 meters, 500 square meters), 500 mm (1335 meters, 1335 square meters), and 550 mm (1335 meters, 1468 square meters). The width listed is the folded width.

At 130 °C, the film shrinks by 66% in length and 68% in width. At 120 °C, shrinkage is 54% lengthwise and 57% crosswise.

This film is transparent and shiny (97 clarity, 85 gloss), making your packaged items visible through the wrap, ideal for cosmetics, food packaging, books, or boxes.

How the shrink film works

POF shrink film 15 µm: Integration and operator responsibilities

During use, operators monitor for clean seals and uniform shrinkage. Overheating the shrink film can cause burning or holes; too little heat means the film won’t shrink snugly.

How to use

1. Select the roll size: the folded width should cover the product’s width plus its height.
2. Mount the roll on the sealer’s film holder with the fold facing the correct direction.
3. Position your product between the two layers of shrink film.
4. Seal the open sides and trim the film.
5. Shrink the film using hot air in a tunnel or hood; at about 120–130 °C, the film shrinks by 54–68%.

Handling and storage

• Shrink temperatures. The film shrinks 54% lengthwise and 57% crosswise at 120 °C, 56% and 60% at 125 °C, and 66% and 68% at 130 °C.
• Sealing. The hot-wire sealer achieves 0.9 N/mm; adjust your machine’s sealing time to match the shrink film.
• Roll width. The combined width and height of your package must fit within the folded width of the shrink film roll, allowing for some extra space.
• Storage. Store shrink film rolls in their original packaging, in a dry place away from heat and sunlight, to prevent premature shrinking.
• Handling. Avoid impacts to the roll edges; damaged edges may cause the shrink film to tear when unwinding.
