The AUTOSHRINK is a fully automatic shrink wrapping machine made up of two sections: an automatic side sealer wraps each item in center-folded film and seals it, while the shrink tunnel applies heat to tightly shrink the film around the product. The system can process up to 50 packs per minute, depending on the product type.

Handles products from 90 × 90 × 10 mm up to 500 × 400 × 120 mm (L × W × H), with a combined width and height of up to 400 mm. Designed for single, uniform items with a flat base.

The sealer uses a Teflon-coated stainless steel blade, operating at 180–230 °C, to cut and seal in less than one second per cycle. The shrink tunnel runs at approximately 150 °C, with an opening of 450 × 250 mm and a tunnel length of 1500 mm.

Both units operate on 3-phase 380 V power; the sealer also requires compressed air. The machine works with POF film, thickness between 0.01 and 0.03 mm. A Siemens PLC with touch screen manages the sealer, and a Siemens servo motor provides drive.

The operator monitors the film feed and waste collection, and checks finished packs for proper sealing and shrink quality. When changing product sizes or film types, adjust the film length and knife temperature as needed.

Operating the AUTOSHRINK

1. Turn on the main power and set the temperatures for both the horizontal and vertical knives.
2. Mount the film roll on the holder, guide the film through the separator boards and pressing wheels, and direct the waste strip to its roller.
3. Adjust the separator board and knife unit heights to match your product, positioning the knife line 10–20 mm below the center of the product height.
4. Set the belt width, check the compressed air supply, and activate automatic mode using the touch screen.
5. Place products on the infeed belt along the side guide; the sealer wraps and seals them, and the tunnel shrinks the film.

Settings and maintenance

• Film length per product. Set this on the touch screen as the delay before cutting; start at about 0300 for short products and 0500 for taller ones, then fine-tune after a few packs.
• Knife temperature. Set between 180 and 230 °C. If the seal tears open, the temperature may be too low, the cutting time too short, or the knife may be worn.
• Compressed air. Keep pressure below 0.3 MPa and regularly drain water from the air filter regulator.
• Daily care. After each shift, wipe film residue from the knife with a soft cloth, ideally right after shutting down, while the temperature is between 90 and 100 °C.
• Cleaning. Clean plastic parts with a soft cloth and a suitable cleaner, never with water or solvents.
• Do not wrap. Avoid loose or wet products, unpackaged liquids, flammable or explosive items, and aerosol cans. For food items, always use food-grade film.

Selecting and preparing for AUTOSHRINK

Frequent issues include using film that is too thick or too thin, incorrect knife temperature settings, or feeding products that are unstable or irregular. To prevent jams, make sure products are spaced properly and the infeed belt is set to the correct width. For optimal performance, test your film and machine settings with your actual products before starting full production.
