TONNA E80 PLC vertical baler

TONNA E80 baler with open door, showing the pressing chamber, strap guides, and two strap reels mounted on topThe TONNA E80 PLC is a vertical baler designed for cardboard and plastic film, manufactured in Poland by ESPIR TECH (Ecobalers VB53). Loose material is loaded through the top door and compressed into a strapped bale that can be stacked on a pallet.

Industries and uses: TONNA E80 PLC vertical baler

The TONNA E80 PLC is commonly used in grocery stores, small warehouses, food service, hotels, manufacturing, and retail where there is a need to manage loose cardboard or plastic film waste. It is ideal for locations with limited space or where frequent waste removal is expensive or not feasible. This baler helps keep workspaces organized and reduces waste pickups by producing compact, stackable bales for recycling.

Typical users are facility managers and waste handling teams who need to process packaging waste from deliveries, shipping, or daily operations. The baler is often installed near loading docks, storage rooms, or waste collection areas to fit into existing routines. Its compact footprint allows it to be set up in backrooms or service spaces with standard ceiling heights.

The baler delivers up to 4 tons of pressing force and produces bales weighing 40–60 kg for cardboard and 50–70 kg for film, with a maximum of 75 kg. Each bale measures 80 × 40 × 80 cm; width and depth are fixed, and the operator adjusts the height.

Daily operation: TONNA E80 PLC

For optimal performance, material should be spread evenly inside the chamber. Overloading or uneven filling can cause bales to be misshapen or not fully compacted. Operators should check for blockages and make sure straps are correctly placed before starting a new bale.

The baler operates on a standard 230 V outlet with a 1.5 kW motor and draws 11 amps. The machine measures 93 × 64 × 210 cm, weighs 325 kg, and runs at 68 dB.

TONNA E80 Video Overview

How the baler saves you money

  • Reduce volume, fewer pickups. Loose cardboard is mostly air; baled, it uses just a small part of your space.
  • Bales that have resale value. Clean, strapped bales of cardboard or film can be sent to recyclers instead of being thrown away.
  • Operated by one person. Load, close the top door, and the press starts automatically; the machine alerts you when the bale is ready.
  • Handles two materials. Separate settings for cardboard and plastic film.
  • Standard outlet. 230 V, 1.5 kW, 11 A, requires a C 16 circuit breaker; does not need three-phase power.
  • Large loading door. The top door opens to 80 × 55 cm, so you can load big boxes without breaking them down.

How to Make a Bale

  1. Thread the straps down through the guides in the chamber, back through the door holes, and secure with the hook.
  2. Place a large sheet of cardboard at the bottom, close the lower door, and load material through the top door.
  3. Close the upper door: the platen lowers automatically. Repeat until the baler signals the bale is full.
  4. Pull the straps over the material, close the door, let the platen press down, and tie the straps while it compresses.
  5. Raise the platen, open the doors standing to the side, and remove the finished bale.

Operation and Maintenance

  • Stay to the side. Open the doors from the side of the baler, as a compressed bale may push the door outward.
  • Bale height adjustment. Width and depth are fixed. For a shorter bale, hold the green button for 5 seconds and the platen will stop lower.
  • Tie with the platen down. Straps should be tied while the platen is still pressing; if tied later, the bale may expand.
  • Daily inspection. Walk around the baler and check for any damage or oil leaks before use; keep the machine clean.
  • Monthly inspection. Check the oil level, lubricate moving parts, and inspect electrical connections. Schedule a yearly maintenance visit with an authorized service center.
  • Installation location. Place the baler indoors in a dry, well-ventilated area on a stable, level surface. A qualified electrician should connect the power supply.

Before selecting the TONNA E80 PLC, make sure your waste volume and material type are suitable for this baler. It is designed for dry, clean cardboard and plastic film only. Using wet, oily, or dirty materials may harm the machine or lower bale quality. The floor must be flat and sturdy enough to support both the baler and the finished bales. Plan how you will move the heavy, bulky bales out of the workspace.

Before purchasing

  • Waste quantity. Each bale can hold 40–60 kg of cardboard or 50–70 kg of plastic film.
  • Material selection. The baler has separate settings for cardboard and film.
  • Bale handling. Bales measure 80 × 40 × 80 cm and weigh up to 75 kg. Plan for a pallet or cart and a clear path for removal.
  • Space requirements. The baler is 93 × 64 × 210 cm and weighs 325 kg. Install indoors on a level floor with at least 210 cm ceiling clearance.
  • Electrical needs. Requires a 230 V outlet with a C 16 circuit breaker nearby.
  • Strapping. Each bale is secured with straps, so include them in your supply planning.
