HIPO ULTRA automatic strapping machine with a 1050 × 800 mm arch

HIPO ULTRA automatic strapping machine with touch screen, strap dispenser, and adjustable tableThe HIPO ULTRA is a fully automatic strapping machine suitable for cartons, boxes, newspapers, magazines, and similar packages. Simply place your pack on the table and the machine automatically feeds the PP strap around it, applies tension, seals it underneath with a hot-melt weld, and cuts the strap—up to 75 cycles per minute. This model features an internal arch size of 1050 mm wide by 800 mm high, custom-built to our order, allowing it to handle much larger packages than the standard 650 × 500 mm arch from the manufacturer.

It operates with polypropylene strap 5 mm or 6 mm wide and 0.5–0.8 mm thick; the strap width is selected at the time of order. Tension can be set from 0 to 45 kg. The working table height is adjustable between 850 and 950 mm, and it can strap packages weighing up to 80 kg.

A PLC with a rotating touchscreen provides machine control, powered by a DC brushless motor, and a fault indicator displays the reason for any stoppage. You can strap a single pack using the button or foot switch, or let the table sensor automatically start the cycle when a pack is placed.

This machine is manufactured for use in printing, logistics, and manufacturing environments, especially for lightweight products. It operates on a standard 220 V single-phase power supply.

Automatic strapping machine in use

How this banding machine supports your packaging process

  • Handles large packages. The 1050 × 800 mm arch is much bigger than the manufacturer’s standard 650 × 500 mm arch, so oversized cartons and bundles can pass through.
  • Keeps up with your workflow. Processes up to 75 straps per minute, allowing one machine to handle a high-volume packing area.
  • Consistent tension for every package. Set the tension once on the touchscreen, from 0 to 45 kg: gentle for delicate cartons, firm for heavier bundles.
  • Automatic start function. In automatic mode, the table sensor activates the strap when a package is placed; in manual mode, use the button or foot pedal.
  • Ergonomic working height. The table height can be set anywhere from 850 to 950 mm to fit the operator’s needs.
  • Minimized downtime. Automatic strap loading, on-screen fault alerts, and maintenance without tools help keep interruptions brief.
  • Single-phase electrical connection. Operates on a 220 V single-phase supply and uses 0.9 kW, so a three-phase hookup isn’t required.

Controls, sealing, and safety features of the strapping machine

  • PLC system with a rotating touch display and fault notification
  • Brushless DC motor
  • Hot-melt bottom seal with electronic temperature regulation for the heater
  • Automatic strap loading and automatic strap end detection
  • Separate dispenser release switch for simple strap changes
  • Table sensor for automatic strapping and foot pedal for manual operation
  • Schneider push buttons and relays; P+F or FOTEK proximity sensors
  • Mobile unit on casters with a spacious table and a large strap coil capacity
  • Warning labels at hazardous areas and covers over live electrical parts
  • Noise level does not exceed 75 dB(A)

Operating instructions for the HIPO ULTRA strapping machine

  1. Place the PP strap coil onto the dispenser, making sure to follow the direction arrow on the outer flange.
  2. Turn on the power and guide the strap as indicated on the label; once the strap end is between the pre-feed rollers, the machine will automatically feed it through the arch.
  3. Adjust the strap tension, heater temperature, and cooling time using the touch display.
  4. Allow the heater to reach its operating temperature.
  5. Select manual mode—one strap cycle per button or foot pedal press—or automatic mode, where the table sensor activates strapping when a package is placed.
  6. Position your package in the center of the table and make sure your hands are clear of the strapping area.

Plastic strapping adjustments, upkeep, and typical issues

  • Tension. Adjust using the touch screen; the default setting is 4, and increasing the number raises the tension. Make changes gradually.
  • Heater temperature and cooling time. Both are controlled from the touch screen. Change the heater temperature if the room temperature varies significantly, and set the cooling time to match your strap and tension settings.
  • Strap in the accumulator. Maintain about 1.5 times the arch and strap path length in the accumulator box. Excess strap can cause jams, while too little may result in short feeds—note that the larger arch requires more strap than a standard size.
  • Weak seals. This usually means the heater temperature is set too high or too low, or the heater plate is worn out and should be replaced after extended use.
  • Loose straps. The tension setting may be too low, or the tension roller could be worn.
  • Strap does not feed. Make sure the coil is installed properly, the strap end is between the pre-feed rollers, and the accumulator has enough strap. Regularly clean strap dust from the strap path.
  • Maintenance. Lubricate the cam surfaces and rollers weekly with N68 oil, and inspect the proximity switches regularly. Always turn off the machine and let the heater cool for about 5 minutes before performing any maintenance.

What to check before purchasing an arch strapping machine

HIPO ULTRA strapping machine details: foot bar, strapping head, touch screen, and table sensorThe price is listed on this page. A few key factors determine if this machine fits your packages: review them before requesting a quote, or send them to us and we’ll help you review your requirements.

  • Pack size and weight. Your largest package must fit through the 1050 × 800 mm arch, and the smallest should be at least 100 mm wide and 60 mm high. The maximum package weight is 80 kg.
  • Strap. For use with PP strap only, 5 mm or 6 mm wide and 0.5–0.8 mm thick, on coils with a 200–210 mm core and a 400–450 mm outside diameter. This machine does not process paper, PET, or steel strap.
  • Power. Requires a 220 V, 50/60 Hz single-phase power source; the machine uses 0.9 kW and draws 4 A.
  • Space and floor. With this arch, the machine is larger than the manufacturer’s standard version, so we’ll confirm the exact size with your quote; the weight is about 230 kg with packaging. Provide at least 2000 × 1500 mm of workspace and a floor that supports 350 kg/m², in a dry, well-ventilated area.
  • Handling. Always move the machine with a forklift under the frame, never under the arch, and roll it into position using its casters.
  • Food, medicine, and corrosive products. For food and pharmaceutical use, the manufacturer recommends a stainless steel model. For corrosive items like seafood, keep liquids away from the strapping head.
