HIPO ULTRA-B automatic strapping machine with conveyor and 850 × 800 mm arch opening

HIPO ULTRA-B automatic strapping machine with conveyor beltThe HIPO ULTRA-B is an automatic strapping machine equipped with its own conveyor system: the belt moves the package into the arch, a sensor activates the cycle, the machine applies a PP strap around the package, seals it underneath, and advances it—handling up to 50 straps per minute, all without manual intervention. This model features an arch with an internal width of 850 mm and height of 800 mm, custom-built for us; the standard arch from the manufacturer is 650 × 500 mm.

This machine uses polypropylene strap 5 or 6 mm wide and 0.5–0.8 mm thick—please specify the width when ordering—and secures it with a hot-melt weld under the package. Tension can be set up to 30 kg, the work table height is 850 mm, and it accommodates packages weighing up to 80 kg.

HIPO ULTRA-B strapping head over conveyor beltA PLC with a touchscreen controls the machine: the display tracks cycle counts, shows alarms, and allows adjustment of strap feed, withdrawal, and cooling times. Two operating modes are available—automatic, where the sensor triggers strapping for each package, and conveyor, where the belt moves packages without strapping.

Designed for use in packing lines for warehousing, logistics, and production environments handling cartons, boxes, newspapers, or magazines, this machine operates without an attendant at the station. It requires a standard 220 V single-phase power supply and uses 1.0 kW.

How the conveyor improves your packaging process

  • No operator needed at the machine. The conveyor brings in each package, the sensor triggers the cycle, and the strapped package exits automatically on the belt.
  • Handles up to 50 straps per minute. Keeps your line moving efficiently, with consistent strap tension and seal on every package.
  • Accommodates larger packages. The 850 × 800 mm arch allows for much bigger cartons than the manufacturer’s standard 650 × 500 mm arch.
  • Move packages without strapping. In convey mode, the belt simply transports packages through, so the machine remains in place when you don’t need to strap a batch.
  • One-time setup on the touch screen. Set strap tension up to 30 kg, heater temperature, strap feed, and cooling time once, and the machine repeats these settings for every package.
  • Standard power connection. 220 V single phase, 1.0 kW, and 6 A – no need for a three-phase hookup.
  • Quiet operation for packaging areas. Sound level remains at or below 75 dB(A).

Control features, sealing process, and safety features

  • PLC controls with touch screen: includes cycle counter, alarm log, and parameter settings screens
  • Two operating modes: automatic strapping triggered by sensor, or convey-only mode
  • Conveyor belt with the strapping head positioned above
  • Automatic strap loading and automatic detection when the strap runs out
  • Electronic control of heater temperature; hot-melt seal applied underneath the package
  • Control panel features a start button, power indicator, and emergency stop
  • Warning labels at hazardous areas and protective covers over energized components
  • Spacious worktable and a high-capacity strap reel mounted on the machine’s side
  • Arch dimensions for this model: 850 × 800 mm; manufacturer’s standard size: 650 × 500 mm
  • Noise emission does not exceed 75 dB(A)

Operating instructions for the HIPO ULTRA-B strapping machine

  1. Turn on the machine; the power indicator will illuminate.
  2. Install the PP strap reel by following the arrow on the outer flange, then feed the strap into the inlet up to the pre-feeding rollers.
  3. Press the manual (inching) button: the machine automatically fills the accumulator box and advances the strap through the arch.
  4. Allow the heater plate to reach its operating temperature.
  5. Select the operating mode: automatic mode triggers a strap cycle for each package via the sensor, or convey mode moves packages with the belt only.
  6. Let the conveyor transport the package to the center of the arch and keep hands clear of the strapping area.

Settings, maintenance, and troubleshooting

  • Tension force Adjusted on the touch screen; higher numbers increase tension, up to 30 kg. Make small adjustments and check the package after each change.
  • Heater setting and cooling duration Both are set via the touch screen. Change the heater temperature if room temperature varies significantly, and adjust cooling time based on the strap and tension settings.
  • Strap capacity in dispenser Maintain about 1.5 times the strap path length in the accumulator box: excess strap may cause jams, while too little can result in short feeds. The larger arch requires more strap than the standard size.
  • Weak seals. This is usually caused by the heater temperature being set too high or too low, or by a heater plate that is worn from extended use and needs replacement.
  • Loose straps. This usually means the tension setting is too low or the tension roller is worn out.
  • Strap feed error Make sure the reel is installed in the correct direction, the strap end is between the pre-feed rollers, and the accumulator has enough strap; regularly remove strap dust from the strap path.
  • Maintenance. Lubricate the cam surfaces and rollers weekly with N68 oil, and inspect the proximity switches regularly. Always turn off the machine and let the heater cool for about 5 minutes before performing any maintenance.

Before purchasing a strapping machine with conveyor

HIPO ULTRA-B control panel and strap reelThe price is listed on this page. A few key details determine if this machine fits your production line: please review them before requesting a quote, or send them to us and we will review them with you.

  • Package dimensions and weight Packages must fit through the 850 × 800 mm arch; the smallest package is 80 mm wide by 60 mm high, and the maximum package weight is 80 kg.
  • Strap width Please specify if you use 5 mm or 6 mm strap: the strap path is set up for that width. The strap should be PP, 0.5–0.8 mm thick, on reels with a 200–210 mm core, an outer diameter of 400–450 mm, and a width of 175–190 mm.
  • Electrical requirements Requires a 220 V, 50 Hz single-phase power supply; the machine uses 1.0 kW and draws 6 A.
  • Required space and floor conditions With this arch, the machine is larger than the standard version (1414 × 728 × 1738 mm), so we confirm the exact size with your quote; the approximate shipping weight is 390 kg. Allow at least 2000 × 1500 mm of workspace and a floor load of 350 kg/m².
  • Line working height The working table is 850 mm high, so plan for the conveyors before and after the machine to be at the same height.
  • For use with food, pharmaceuticals, and corrosive products For food and pharmaceutical use, the manufacturer recommends a stainless steel version; for corrosive products like seafood, keep liquids away from the strapping head.
