Operating this machine is easy. First, plug it into a 230 or 240-volt outlet using a 13-amp plug. Next, release the red emergency stop knob and turn the black rotary switch to the right. Press the GREEN start button to illuminate the operating lamp. Feed corrugated board, up to 18 mm thick, into the front opening. Any width of board can be processed, as the built-in cutter will trim off any excess width.

If your carton contains staples, position it so the staples are on the left side as you feed it into the machine. Process the board as usual, ensuring the last section with staples remains to the left of the built-in cutter. You will be left with a narrow strip containing the staples, which should be disposed of safely.

A spring-loaded stainless steel flap at the back of the machine compresses the shredded board into more flexible cushioning. Do not lift the flap to remove shredded material; processed board will be pushed out as more is fed in from the front. If you need flat material, remove the two L-shaped spring legs from the holes in the compactor flap. The flap will then move freely and allow the shredded board to exit without restriction.

If the motor overheats, the thermal cut-out will activate. Wait three minutes, then press the button to resume operation. If a jam occurs, turn the rotary switch all the way to the left to reverse the motor and clear the material.

Instructions for operating the GREE ES 422 cardboard shredder:

1. 

   Plug the shredder into a 230 or 240-volt outlet using a 13-amp plug.

2. Pull out the RED emergency stop button.
3. Turn the black rotary switch to the right, press the green start button, and the indicator light will turn on.
4. Insert corrugated board up to 20mm thick into the front opening of the machine. The built-in cutter will trim any excess width, and you can feed trimmed pieces back into the shredder until all the material is processed.
5. If the cardboard contains staples, feed it into the machine with the staples positioned on the left side. Continue processing as usual, making sure the last section with staples stays to the left of the built-in cutter. This will leave a narrow strip with staples, which should be disposed of safely.
6. A spring-loaded stainless steel flap is located at the back of the machine. This compactor flap compresses the shredded board into a more flexible cushioning form. Do not lift the flap to remove shredded material; as more board is fed in from the front, the processed material will be pushed out.
