AUTOMA automatic strapping machine for PP strap

AUTOMA automatic strapping machine with arch and strap spool located below the tableThe AUTOMA is a fully automatic strapping machine. To operate, simply place your package on the table and start the cycle using either the ball switch or the foot pedal. The machine automatically feeds the strap around the package, tightens it, seals it with a weld, and cuts the strap. Both of the operator’s hands remain on the package, making it easy to rotate a carton for a second strap without pausing the process.

This machine uses PP strap, 11–12 mm wide and 0.6–1.0 mm thick, on spools that are 160 mm wide, with a core diameter of 200–210 mm and an outside diameter of 400–500 mm. The AUTOMA accepts strap widths from 9 to 12 mm, so you can adjust the width if your packaging needs change.

AUTOMA automatic strapping machine strapping a cartonThe arch measures 1000 × 800 mm and is made from aluminum alloy. This is the standard size we supply for this model, and it determines the maximum package size that can be strapped. The smallest package size is 80 × 80 mm, with a minimum length of 200 mm. The table height is 750 mm and supports up to 80 kg.

The AUTOMA can apply up to 30 straps per minute, and the tension can be set anywhere from 0 to 90 kg. This means you can strap both lightweight cartons and heavy crates with the same machine. The weld is placed underneath the package, covering at least 90% of the strap area, with a maximum offset of 2 mm.

Common applications for the AUTOMA automatic strapping machine

The AUTOMA automatic strapping machine is ideal for packaging lines where secure bundling and closure are needed. It is typically used for strapping cartons, crates, bundles of printed materials, wooden boxes, and paper packages. You’ll often find it at the end of production or packing lines in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, hardware, printing, and logistics.

Packages are positioned on the table beneath the arch, allowing for quick and consistent strapping of single items or batches. Operators usually choose this machine for medium to high throughput where uniform strap tension and placement are important.

How the strapping machine improves your packaging process

  • Keep both hands on your package. Start the cycle with the ball switch or foot pedal, so you can hold and rotate the box instead of operating a switch.
  • Up to 30 straps per minute. Designed for continuous use at the end of a production line, not for occasional strapping.
  • Adjustable tension from 0 to 90 kg. Set it once so lightweight cartons won’t get crushed and heavy packages stay secure.
  • 1000 × 800 mm arch. This larger arch handles cartons, crates, and bundles that smaller arches can’t accommodate.
  • Weld positioned beneath the package. The weld covers at least 90% of the strap surface and keeps the strap in place within a 2 mm margin.
  • Quiet operation for packing areas. Noise level stays below 75 dB(A). Runs on single-phase 220 V, 1.0 kW, with no need for compressed air or a three-phase connection.

Arch, Controls, and Safety

  • Automatically straps with PP strap 11–12 mm wide (machine accepts 9–12 mm)
  • Strap thickness from 0.6 to 1.0 mm, with tensile strength up to 150 kg
  • 1000 × 800 mm arch made of aluminum alloy
  • Processes up to 30 straps per minute
  • Tension adjustable between 0 and 90 kg
  • Welds under the package, covers at least 90% of the strap surface, and holds position within 2 mm
  • Equipped with ball switch and foot pedal for continuous strapping
  • Minimum package size: 80 × 80 mm, minimum length: 200 mm
  • Table height is 750 mm, supports loads up to 80 kg
  • Strap spool width 160 mm, inner diameter 200–210 mm, outer diameter 400–500 mm
  • Controlled by PC board, features casters with brakes
  • 220 V, 50/60 Hz, 1.0 kW, 10 A; noise level below 75 dB(A)

How to Use the AUTOMA Strapping Machine

  1. Place the strap spool on the holder beneath the table and feed the strap into the machine.
  2. Turn on the machine and allow the welding unit to heat up.
  3. Adjust the strapping tension on the control panel: use less for cartons, more for heavier packages.
  4. Position your package on the table under the arch and start the cycle using either the ball switch or foot pedal.
  5. The machine loops the strap around the package, tightens it, welds it underneath, and cuts it. Rotate the package and repeat for a second strap if needed.

Settings and Maintenance

  • Strapping tension. Adjustable from 0 to 90 kg on the control panel, so the same machine can secure both light cartons and heavy crates.
  • Strap. Uses PP strap 11–12 mm wide and 0.6–1.0 mm thick; machine accepts 9–12 mm. Spool width 160 mm, inner diameter 200–210 mm, outer diameter 400–500 mm.
  • Weld. The weld is made underneath the package. If the strap separates, first check the temperature settings and the quality of the strap. The weld should hold at least 90% of the strap’s surface area.
  • Working conditions. The machine is designed for use between 0 and 40 °C, with humidity up to 90%. It operates at a noise level below 75 dB(A).
  • Maintenance. Always turn off the machine before performing any maintenance. Keep the strap channel and arch clear of dust and strap debris, and inspect the strap guide and cutter regularly.

Key considerations for selecting and using the AUTOMA automatic strapping machine

Before choosing the AUTOMA machine, review the size and weight of your typical packages to confirm they fit within the arch and table specifications. Make sure the PP strap you intend to use is the right width and thickness, as these affect weld strength and tension. If you plan to add the machine to a packing line, check that the table height matches your conveyor or workbench.
